Black and Unbothered Pin

Image of Black and Unbothered Pin
On sale

Inspired by Cecil J. Williams

Cecil J. Williams is an American photographer, publisher, author and inventor. He is best known for his photography documenting the civil rights movement in South Carolina beginning in the 1950s.

Coming back from a 1956 trip photographing South Carolina’s segregated beaches for Jet magazine, Cecil J. Williams stopped at a filling station, closed at the time, and drank from a “WHITE ONLY” water fountain. Cecil J. Williams had a friend, Rendall Harper, capture his "Black and Unbothered" moment in time.

Cecil J. Williams is truly "Black and Unbothered"

*A portion of the proceeds from this pin will be donated to the Cecil Williams Civil Rights Museum*

***ATTENTION***
Seconds pins or flawed pins are still wearable but aren't up to our standards to sell at full price. Flaws can range from tiny scratches and dents, to low or missing enamel fill, slight tarnishing on metal, enamel colors in the wrong places, etc. A great way to collect at a lower price.
